CrockPot Poor Man’s Stew

A delicious crock pot recipe using simple ingredients, this Poor Man’s Stew is a family favorite. It’s an easy dinner to make, budget friendly!

INGREDIENTS

Peel & chop the potatoes, carrots, onions & celery. Mince the garlic.

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat & sauté the onion until softened..

Add the garlic & cook 30 more seconds. Add the ground beef & cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

In a bowl, mix together the tomatoes stock, onion powder, garlic powder & Italian seasoning (can sub dried thyme).

Add the browned ground beef mixture, liquid mixture & the potatoes, carrots & celery to your slow cooker. Mix well.

Cover & cook on low for 6 hours, or 4 hours on high.

Remove about half a cup of the cooking liquid & mix flour into it until smooth, then stir the mixture into the pot.

Add the frozen peas (if using) at this point. Cook 30 more mins.
