Make short work of breakfast and enjoy this yummy Mixed Berry Smoothie fast! An easy oatmeal smoothie recipe packed with summer berries and fresh flavor. A few ingredients, a quick whizz in the blender and breakfast is served!
A healthy breakfast smoothie is a great way to start the day, and there’s no easier way to get fruit, tangy yogurt, AND oatmeal into your body than mixing up a quick smoothie in a blender.
Okay so hear me out on the oatmeal thing. I know it sounds weird, but trust me, you can’t even taste it. It just blends right in and makes the whole smoothie way more filling. No more being hungry again an hour later!

Why you’ll love this
- Easy. Only 5 ingredients and you’re done in less than 5 minutes.
- Actually filling. The oats and yogurt keep you full way longer than a regular smoothie.
- Use what you’ve got. Any fruit works here, fresh or frozen. We like to use different fruit (pineapple and coconut, mango and peach etc) in our smoothies. Basically, whatever we have on hand is fair game.
- Good for you. Berries, oats, yogurt… it’s basically a superfood in a glass.

Make ahead
I like to make smoothies ahead, kind of. I freeze yogurt mixed with honey in mini muffin tins. Then add the right sized portion of fruit and oatmeal to a ziplock, and all I need to do is add milk on the day I need a smoothie.
If you have too many berries (is there such a thing?) simply throw them in a ziplock bag and freeze. You’ll have the makings of a smoothie anytime you need it.

- Fresh fruit. You can use whatever you have on hand! I keep frozen mixed berries in my freezer, but any fresh or frozen fruit will work well in this recipe! A frozen banana tossed in will do well too!
- Plain yogurt. I use greek yogurt, but plain vanilla or yogurt of any kind that works with your flavors will be great. It gives the smoothie a delicious creamy texture.
- Milk. Any kind of milk can be used. We like unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk and regular milk in any combination
- Oats. This smoothie gets a bump in protein and iron with the addition of oats. I use quick cooking oats, but you can use the old fashioned kind. Steel cut oats won’t be good in this. If you are gluten-free, be sure to use certified GF oats.
- Honey. You can use agave, or maple syrup if you prefer. Adjust sweetness to taste.

Recommended Equipment/Tools

- You will need High-speed blender (affiliate link) to get the best texture. A blender matters in this case because you will want to fully break down the oats and frozen berries to be a smooth, drinkable situation.
