Easy enough for a weeknight, but fancy enough for company, you’ll make this recipe over and over!

This recipe is easy to throw together on a weeknight! Using just a few simple ingredients makes this glazed pork chop recipe a good one to feed the family super fast.

An absolutely delicious weeknight dinner, that packs a punch of flavor. While it is super simple, it doesn’t taste like it! I have served this great recipe for company, with rave reviews.

We basically season up some pork chops (see my notes for what kind of chops work best), and cook them. Then we use the same skillet to cook the onions, and make the glaze. Add the pork back in, smother it in deliciousness – and serve!

Why this recipe works

Basic Ingredients. Aside from olive oil and salt/pepper – these pork chops are just 5 ingredients, easily found at any grocery store.

Substitutions/Additions

Add a little garlic powder or onion powder to the seasoning to add another level of flavor.

Can I use bone in pork chops?

Absolutely! Use what you have. Watch your cooking times, and be sure that the pork is cooked fully. Thick bone in chops will take longer than boneless chops.

What temperature to cook pork?

Pork chops should be cooked to 145 degrees F when tested with a digital thermometer in the thickest part.

Boneless pork loin chops. You can use any kind of pork chops (or chicken) that you like. Different cuts of pork will take different amounts of time.
Garlic. Feel free to boost this if you’re not afraid of garlic!
Onion. Sliced thinly, so they cook fast.
Balsamic Vinegar. Don’t sub another type of vinegar. Only balsamic will work for this purpose.
Brown Sugar. I use dark brown, but light brown works too. You could also use maple syrup, honey or agave if you prefer. Adjust amounts, of course.

How to make this recipe

Prep

Season the pork chops on both sides, slice the onions thinly and mince the garlic.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat.

Cook the Pork

Cook the pork chops about 3-4 minutes each side until an internal temperature of 145 degrees F is reached.

Remove pork chops, and keep warm by tenting with foil.

Cook the onions

In the same skillet, add garlic and onions and cook for a minute or two until the onions soften.

Add the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Reduce heat and let the sauce reduce slightly (about 5 minutes).

Finish up

Add pork chops back into the skillet and turn in the sauce, covering completely.

Rest glazed pork chops for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

Serve with the onions, spooning some extra sauce over the top.

Devour.
