Why you’ll love this

Homemade pizza is my favorite lunch or dinner! All I really have to do is throw some ingredients in some bowls and let everyone make their own. I can then claim I “made dinner” when really… they did. I won’t tell if you don’t.

Flatbread pizzas are fantastic, because you don’t have worry about pizza dough! Instead of fussing with a pizza dough recipe and all the waiting, just use Naan bread or store-bought flatbreads.

  • Easy. This doesn’t require a culinary degree. They can be ready in 15 minutes, but definitely under 30 minutes!
  • Adaptable. Add whatever you like as toppings!

Quick and easy is the name of the game here – high quality ingredients will elevate pretty much anything you cook, and that absolutely applies to flatbread pizza recipes. Basically you will just use whatever you have on hand in your fridge. I raid the fridge door for all the half eaten jars of olives, roasted red peppers, artichokes and whatever else I can find (I love capers on my pizza too). No flatbread? No worries! Just grab some tortillas instead!

Key Recipe Ingredients

Note: This highlights some ingredients. Full list is in the recipe card

  • Flatbreads. These can be store-bought flatbreads, naan bread, or make your own.
  • Pizza sauce. Grab your favorite brand.
  • Mozzarella. I buy this pre shredded.
  • Salami, Pepperoni, Olives. I use Kalamata olives that have been pitted already. If yours have pits, remove those and then slice in half.
  • Red onion. Cut these thinly, into half moon slices.
  • Fresh mozzarella balls. If you can’t find these, grab some fresh mozzarella cheese and cut into small pieces.
  • Roasted red peppers. You can buy these whole and slice them, or buy them sliced.
  • Artichokes. I love the flavor of the marinated ones on pizza!

Kylee’s Notes

Make ahead

Prep all the ingredients and assemble right before cooking. If you are entertaining, let people create their own flatbread flavor, and choose what they want as toppings! This is great for all ages, because who doesn’t want to pick what is on their pizza?

Substitutions/Additions

You can use pizza dough instead of flatbread, just roll out and set on parchment paper. Par bake the dough before topping.

If you are not a fan of pizza sauce use alfredo sauce instead. Or, keep it simple and brush the bases with a little olive oil (and top with garlic).

Make some Caramelized Onions and use these with the Gallo Salame or Pepperoni, and some fresh mozzarella.
