These sliders are for nights when fast food sounds good but leaving the house doesn’t. You get that familiar Big Mac flavor baked in one pan with ingredients you already know, and dinner’s ready without a lot of effort. They’re a little messy, loved by the whole family, and always a crowd-pleaser that disappears fast.
This recipe came from wanting something fun and familiar without a drive-thru line. It also saves me from flipping individual burgers while everyone hovers in the kitchen asking when dinner will be ready. Everything bakes together, the sauce does most of the work, and the lettuce and pickles go on last so nothing gets soggy. It’s an easy win for busy weeknights, casual get-togethers, or feeding a hungry group.

Key Recipe Ingredients
The full list of ingredients and amounts is found in the printable recipe card below.
- Ground beef. Go with a higher-fat blend for juicier sliders, although you use lean ground beef. Just make sure to drain it well after cooking.
- American cheese. Melts smoothly and gives that classic fast-food flavor.
- Iceberg lettuce. Crisp and crunchy is key here. Shred it finely so it stays put.
- Pickle relish. Dill relish gives the sauce that signature tang. You can use sweet pickle relish if that’s what you have on hand.
- Hawaiian rolls. Soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for soaking up all the goodness. You can use any kind though. Dinner rolls, slider buns – they all work!
These sliders are loaded with pickle relish, so for an extra pickle punch on game day, serve a creamy Dill Pickle Dip alongside.

Preheat the oven to 350°F and prep the buns (slice them horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish or sheet pan). Cook and drain the seasoned beef, then stir together the sauce until smooth. Stir together the sauce ingredients.

Spread the beef in an even layer over the buns, top with cheese slices, and bake until melted. Spoon the special sauce over the cheese, add the shredded lettuce and pickles, place the top buns on, then brush with melted butter, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and broil until lightly golden.

Troubleshooting Guide – Common Problems and Solutions
- Sliders are soggy. The beef probably wasn’t drained well enough, or the buns sat too long before baking. Get that grease out and move fast once you assemble.
- Buns browned too fast. Broilers are unpredictable. Keep a close eye and pull them early – better pale than burnt.
- Cheese didn’t melt evenly. Lay the slices edge to edge so the beef is fully covered and melts at the same pace.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make Big Mac Sliders ahead of time?
You can cook the beef and mix the sauce ahead of time. Assemble everything up to the cheese layer, then bake and finish right before serving.
Can I make the sauce in advance?
Yes. The sauce actually tastes better after chilling for a few hours or overnight.
Can I use a different type of bun?
Any soft slider bun will work, but Hawaiian rolls give you that sweet contrast that makes these extra good.

Refrigerator
Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Keep the lettuce and sauce separate if possible so everything stays fresh.
