I’m a working mama, my head spins sometimes when I look at our family schedule. Between school drop-offs (2 x – different schools, different times), pickups, homework, gymnastics, appointments and you know… working for a living … I regularly stare at the fridge at dinner time wondering:
- where the day went;
- why there are hot wheels cars in my fridge;
- what on earth I’m going to make for dinner that 1) we’ll all enjoy, 2) I can rustle up in 30 minutes or less, 3) using just what I have on hand.
No recipe – no problem!! Thankfully for me, I keep precooked Eckrich Original Skinless Smoked Sausage Rope around for this exact purpose. Crafted with just the right blend of spices for a rich, savory taste, and pre-cooked so all you have to do is heat and eat, Eckrich Naturally Hardwood Smoked Sausage can be paired with whatever you have on-hand in the fridge or pantry for a fast, fool-proof meal that the whole family will love.

Kylee’s Notes & FAQs
- Can I use milk or half n half in place of cream?
Yes! you may need to add a little cream cheese to thicken the sauce, but it’s totally doable. - How do I know if my pasta is cooked?
Take a piece out of the pan. Al dente pasta will feel firm, not crunchy when you bite down with your front teeth. - Can I use any kind of sausage?
Yes! Any fully cooked sausage will work. - Can I double this?
Yes, you can, and you totally should. If you have a bigger family than me, or you just love leftovers – double/triple/quadruple away!

Just made this tonight. Very good. I did use turkey smoked sausage, and did recipe as is, except for adding a little bell pepper and cajun seasoning. I used sharp white cheddar. Was very good and I do love the one pot concept. I do it with alot of pastas! Thanks.

Spinach? That would be good i think?!

Pretty good! Used rotel also instead of diced tomatoes but still needed just a little more kick for my family spice wise , we added some crushed red pepper for that, but next time will try pepper Jack as another person commented and see if that’s enough without the crushed red pepper for kick we want! But overall my 6 kiddos and husband loved it! And I love it was all in one pot for easier clean up!

Liked it the original way, then made a couple changes. Now I use Rotel tomatoes instead of diced and I use pepperjack instead of cheddar. A family favorite!
